Rocket Nozzle Development: A Simple Amateur Approach (V1)
I have begun a new manufacturing method for my rocket nozzles (hopefully much more robust this time). The approach involves designing a basic CAD model for 3D printing, which will function as a mold insert. Rockite concrete will then be poured around this printed component to form the final nozzle structure.
This technique draws inspiration from Richard Nakka's "Kappa Nozzle" design. The current dimensional specifications remain preliminary, and the initial prototype hasn't undergone testing.
I anticipate future refinements may yield an affordable, high-performing nozzle without requiring traditional manufacturing equipment like lathes or graphite blocks.
A comprehensive instructional post is planned, which will provide detailed explanations of the design rationale and necessary materials for replicating this nozzle creation method.
